There’s a popular sentiment I see from women online:
“The more I heal, the less ambitious I become.”
I get it.
I was also running on fumes, white-knuckling my way through life.
I also mistook self-destruction for drive.
And when I finally got off the merry-go-round of trying to prove my value, it absolutely felt like I was losing something I could only ambiguously define as my “edge.”
But what I was actually losing was a trauma response that kept me sprinting toward an invisible finish line. I was losing the need to tap-dance on an invisible stage to prove my worthiness.
I was exhausted from years of trying to contort myself into something marketable and digestible, something that could fit in the 150 characters of an Instagram bio.
But, I don’t actually think healing kills ambition. I think healing wakes us up to the world’s definition of it: survival mode wearing a matching Alo set and drinking an iced matcha latte.
When did we start believing that success and struggle are the same thing?
That exhaustion is proof of our dedication? That the only way to be worthy of a good life is to suffer for it first?
Healing begins to strip away those illusions. It invites us to confront the difference between true ambition and the desperate chase to prove that we belong. And in that in-between space, where the urgency fades and the adrenaline stops rushing, it can feel like we’ve lost something vital.
But what if we haven’t lost our ambition at all? What if we’re just meeting ourselves for the first time without fear, desperation and the need to perform for love and acceptance?
Real ambition isn’t just about getting there at any cost. It’s about building a life of impact that feels enjoyable along the way.
That’s where life after burnout begins.
If you’re here, you’ve probably already burned it all down—the grinding, the overachieving, the need to prove yourself.
You unmasked the performer you thought you had to be: the one shaped by hustle culture, perfectionism, and people-pleasing.
And now you’re standing in the ashes of your old life, looking around, thinking:
“Okay… now what?”
You’re trying to slow down.
You’re trying to move with a regulated nervous system instead sprinting through your days on pure adrenaline.
But you’re also not interested in disappearing into the void of a “soft life” forever, because that doesn’t feel so great after a while either.
Part of the problem here is the all-or-nothing thinking we have around creating a life of purpose and autonomy.
Women are so conditioned to preemptively contain ourselves in neatly defined categories, that we think we either have to have a girlboss-grindset definition of ambition or some feminine-energy-trad-wife-adjacent bullshit version of it. It’s neither.
You, sweet angel, cannot be contained.
Your version of ambition needs a new shape. One that isn’t built on self-sacrifice, but on sustainability. One that isn’t fueled by fear, but by connection to yourself.
That shift—the one where you stop chasing and start creating—is what my new audio course, The 17 Principles of Soft Ambition, is all about.
This audio course is for women who are done with burnout but still crave purpose. Women who want to do meaningful work without falling back into the exhausting patterns that drained us in the first place.
Through 17 short, powerful lessons, I’ll guide you through a new way to think about ambition so that you can build your work, your creative practice, and a life that actually feels good to live.

I’m so excited about this. I’m doing a no spend challenge for the month of March. So I have to wait 48 hours before making a purchase of something to prevent impulse purchases. But I resonated sooo much with watch you shared and have this course open in a safari tab ready to buy soon 🔜🤟🏽🎠
